Daily tips to learn how to be content

If you don’t know where to start to begin your journey of a more content and simple lifestyle, steal this tips below that you can implement any day of the week:

1. Find True Satisfaction in god

God has given us everything we need to be content in life- even if it dosen’t feel like it. What things are a blessing in your life? Practice gratitude daily by writing things you are thankful for down. Pray and thank God for them!

2. Celebrate in the moment

Mama, literally stop and smell the roses! When something good happens stop and celebrate it right away! Don’t just ignore it and move on. Celebrate it with worship and thanksgiving to God! He intended for our everyday lives to be beautiful.

3. Make easier to do lists

Make to-do lists that you KNOW you can complete. Be mindful not to put too many tasks on the list- this may spark the feeling of not being content. Add in self care tasks like ” Drink more water” to help you feel accomplished while also being mindful of your well being.

4. Challenge yourself more

Take on a new skill, cook a new meal without a recipe- impress yourself. You’d be surprised in what you find out about yourself when you try something new. 12 Ways to spark your motherhood: Enjoy motherhood and homemaking more!

5. Be happy with less

Decluttering benefits your home and the people outside of it. Nothing brings more contentment than knowing you helped another family with something they have been needing! SO- What things are taking up space in your home that you can afford to get rid of?

6. How to be content with less screen time

You would think spending less time away from your phone would leave you feeling disconnected, but actually it’s the opposite. The more time you spend scrolling the more room you allow for comparison. If you feel like you are constantly longing for things you don’t have, try taking a phone break. Don’t let comparison steal the joy you’ve worked so hard for!

7.Create new experiences within your home

Often times we are looking for other things, people or places to entertain us and keep us content, but what if we could create that in our own home? Create thrill in your home by switching furniture around, having random dance parties, and being creative using the things you already have.

8. Make time to Be SPONTANEOUS

Sometimes we long for more, because maybe there is more. Do you actually have some extra space in your schedule today? Don’t fill empty space with something mundane , and instead use it to do something out of the ordinary. Keep it simple, though 🙂

9. Have a simple routine you can rely on

How ironic that after saying “BE SPONTANEOUS” you get hit by the ” HAVE A ROUTINE” Bus! LOL …But, really, having a solid routine is a lifestyle changer. This keeps your days simple because you know what to expect, and the days that you don’t have time for spontaneity you have a reliable routine to fall back on.

10. Be okay with what you have

Be greatful for the people in your life and the things you already have in life. God wants us to be faithful with the little, before he grants us more BUT, Receiving more will not bring true happiness. That’s why it’s important to be thankful no matter what.

11. Don’t overthink the details

Don’t overthink it! If there is a more simple route to take, or a more affordable option, or a method that saves more time- JUST DO IT! Sometimes we put thought into things that take up too much mental space. Living a more simple life, reality is just that simple.

12. Appreciate the gift of nature

Learn how to be content with just the sounds of nature. Appreciate the colors, and the different seasons. Notice the sounds you hear when you’re out and about. Enjoy a simple nature walk with your children. Experience the peace that the outdoors can bring.

13. Take breaks often

Listen to your body when it’s telling you to rest. Have one day out of the week where you can recharge. Be intentional and mindful that you are actually rested. Take a break from chores, have a pajama day with your kids. Take time to just be still.

14. How to be content with less clothes

Simplify your wardrobe. Keep the pieces you LOVE, give away the rest. Less is really more when it comes to clothing. Fewer clothing options makes choosing an outfit easier and more satisfying. You will be surprised at how many outfits you can make with just a few pieces!

15. Simplify your family meals

Not every meal needs to be a 5 course meal. Focus on creating simple ingredient meals, one pot meals, or 30-minute meals to make dinner easier. This can cut your cleaning time in half and double your family time.

16. Trade unthankful thoughts for Thankful ones

The Bible talks about “putting on” things and “putting off” things. The only way we can experience true transformation in our lives is when we quickly catch the things we need to “Put off”. So- the next time you want to complain tell yourself to put off complaining and put on a heart that is thankful.

Lean into the relationships that encourage you. Appreciate friends that allow you to be, without making you feel like you need to have more, or do more. Find simple ways to pour into them as well. Maybe its a phone call, or making extra dinner and dropping it off to them.

19. Be content while Giving to others

They say gift givers often experience more happiness than the one receiving the gift. Giving makes us more content and gives us a sense of connection with others. Serving others is truly fulfilling. Keep it simple though. Giving dosen’t always have to be a store bought gift. It can be your time, encouragement, or even your baking skills 🙂
